Fall so far

I can't believe it is already mid October! This year has gone by so fast. I know everyone always says that, but every year keeps slipping away quicker than the one before.

I am glad it is fall though. I love fall! The rainy season is starting to come back in Washington, and that is ok by me. I like the cooler weather, it makes everything feel fresh.

We have been very busy the last couple of months. We are working and trying to do things around the house. Mia is growing like a weed. She has her four month appointment in two weeks. She will get another round of immunizations then. She was so upset with them last time, it was so hard to see her upset. But I know it is best for her and the sadness doesn't last long.

Doug and I celebrated our 4th anniversary last thursday! I cannot believe it has been four years. We have been together for a total of seven years, and known each other for eight! Crazy! On our anniversary we went out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse. It was a very nice dinner, especially since I had a coupon for a free stake:)

The next night we got a baby sitter for the first time and went up to Seattle to see the Blue Man Group. It was really fun. We had seen the Blue Man Group before in Las Vegas a few years ago, and this show was just as good. It was hard leaving Mia at home with a sitter, but we had a great time, and our sitter Emily, who is having a baby soon, got some good practice;)

Also this weekend I was able to go up to Bellevue to see my cousin Christie. She was here on business and I am so happy that we were able to visit and have dinner together. It was also the first of my extended family that got to meet Mia. It was a great visit!

Christie and Mia

Mia is wonderful. She is such a happy little baby. She has started giggling and it is so great when you get her going. She is quick to give away smiles as well! I love it in the morning when she is waking up. I put my face right up to her so that when she opens her eyes she sees me, then she gives the biggest smile. I love that girl so much!

Mia and Stitchy - 3 months

Doug is doing well. I think he has the hardest schedule of all. When he works his 12 hour night shift he comes home to sleep in the morning. I usually have to leave for work mid morning-leaving Mia to nap, if she wants to. Usually she is good and will sleep for a few hours, but there are those days where she doesn't want to sleep, and keeps Doug up until I get home. He is handling it well, but I hope and pray that soon I will be able to stay home so he doesn't have to worry about his sleep (or lack of).

I have been doing well. Still working part time as a personal banker. I like my job, but I wish I worked closer to home. It is just hard to find something with matching out, that also has matching pay. But I am still looking for something closer and also trying to come up with some ideas on how to make a little bit of money from home.

Doug and I have decided to not use facebook as much, if at all, anymore. We feel that although it has some great uses, it is getting annoying and impersonal. It is good for keeping in touch with friends and family, but we think that there are better ways to keep in touch (what happens to email and good old fashioned phone calls?). We will post pictures of Mia every now and then, but I am beginning not to be as comfortable with it. So if we don't post things often, it is because we are exploring other ways to keep people posted of our daily doings. I hope to be making this blog private soon as well, but I am working out some kinks with it for now.

Mia going for a walk!

That is all for now. I am aiming for a goal of posting on her once a week, but we will see how that goes! I will try to take some pictures this week of Mia's bedroom, and of some decorations we put up around the house for halloween!
