Mia is 2 months old today! I cannot believe my baby girl is already two months old! The time has gone by so fast. It feels like we just brought her home yesterday.
Mia is an absolute joy! She is usually a very happy little girl, she only has been little grumpy the last couple of days due to the fact that she had some immunizations a few days ago. Her latest thing is finding her voice-she loves it! I will be in the kitchen while she is in her pooh bear (a rocker thing that has pooh bear on it, I don't know what its called!) and I will hear her just yelling to test out her voice!
Her last doctors appointment was two days ago. She is 11lbs 3oz (in the 64th percentile) and 23 inches long (90th percentile). She is perfectly healthy! She follows you with her eyes and loves to smile and laugh. She really likes to lay on a blanket on the floor and just kick away and make noises. WE just love her so much.
Doug and I have been doing well. Doug is working at GMCR still and really enjoys his job. He still works 12 hour night shift and a rotating schedule and it works out great for him. I don't know how he stays up at night but he really likes it.
I went back to work two weeks ago and it was probably the hardest thing i've ever done. The good thing is that I am only working 25 hours a week at the Credit Union. I work in the call center, so its nice to be able to call home whenever I want. With our schedule we are able to make it work that Mia doesn't have to go to daycare. I work 10-3, so I get up early to keep Mia busy, then put her down for a nap with Doug when I leave. She has been doing well with this schedule and lets Doug sleep until about 12-1pm. Its working great. I am trying to find some part-time work closer to home though. I like my job but it takes me 30-40 minutes to get there. It would be great to be able to find something 5 minutes away!
Our year has been pretty crazy. Buying a house, having a baby and having family here has made us so busy. We are very happy that things are slowing down and that we don't really have anything coming up in the near future. Its a nice feeling. We are happy to learn how to be our own family and continue working to make our house a home. I love being at home. We are slowly decorating and painting. Our next project is our bedroom. We are still thinking about the color, and when my dad was here he cut out a chair rail to put around the room, which will look great. Its what we have in Mia's room. I will have to take picture of her room, it turned out great.
For the rest of the year Doug and I just want to lay low and do things around the house and locally. In October we want to go back down to Oregon to the Roloff Farm. It will be fun to bring Mia to the pumpkin patch! It was so much fun last year! Our anniversary is also in October, so we will have to plan something fun for that. I am also going to start planning my garden for next year. I am going to go get a bunch of Daffodil and Tulip bulbs to plant now, so that they will bloom next spring.
I also want to put up some more shelving in our garage (my dad put up a bunch when he was here, and we filled them up already!). The shelves are great for stocking up on household items and food storage.
Thats all thats going on here. We are just enjoying our new home, and our little family. As much as we miss family, it is so nice to have just the three of us.
Oh, and Burrito is doing great:) He loves his baby girl as much as we do! He loves to lick her toes and always comes running if she starts crying. He is such a good big brother.
