New Car!

This past week Doug and I decided that it was time to buy a new car. We have been sharing one car for the past three years and with me starting work it just had to happen. We looked around at honda and toyota, new and used, but really didn't find the car that we wanted. Then we went to Mazda and really liked the car. We got a Mazda3 Touring. We got it new because the price different didn't make sense for us to buy used. Enjoy!

Fireworks and the Beach

Here are some pictures of the Fireworks that we bought with our neighbors Mike and Whitney. We were not used to being able to buy and use real fireworks! The place that we got them was on an Indian Reservation and was called "ill eagle fireworks".

Today, Doug had the day off so we took a two hour drive and went to the coast. The scenery was so pretty along the way. It was very hot, so we only stayed a couple of hours, but it was really nice to be able to be at the beach. Of course, being so far north, the water was frigid and we could not swim in it, but it was still nice to be near it.

The beach was so beautiful! There were sand dollars everywhere. I just wish that the water had been warmer. Oh well.

4th of July Weekend

We have been in Washington for a little over a month now. It can be hard to get used to a new area, but we are both doing alright. Doug's job is going great, his boss really likes his work and has been giving Doug a lot of flexibility with hours. He can basically work whenever he wants, and get as much overtime as he wants. Its really nice. He has been working nights so he is home all during the day. It works out really well.

This is a picture of Mount Rainier from our apartment complex. I thought i knew what mountains were in Vermont, but they are nothing compared to the mountains here.

This weekend we went to Rainier National Park. We decided to pull over to the side of the road and explore the area just outside the park. This is taken off of a bridge looking towards the park.

We went up to the park with our neighbor friends, Mike and Whitney. The next couple of picture are of us exploring the riverbed in the park. There wasn't any straight paths across the river so we got creative. It was really fun.
